I was born in Mexico to a big family, and have Yaqui in my blood. My family immigrated to the United States and moved to Tucson when I was twelve. I learned English, studied hard, and against the odds, obtained B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering.
I taught courses in chemistry and engineering at UC Davis, Columbia University and the University of Colorado. After having three niños, I felt my roots pulling me back. In 2013, I decided to take a break from teaching for a culinary journey to Oaxaca to relearn my family's ways of making salsas and molés.
My vision is to transmit my passion for food through cooking. I want everyone to experience Mexican food as fresh, vibrant, healthy and delicious.
Carmen's Salsa offers fresh and authentic molés and salsas, including Oaxacan molé, Sonoran red chile molé, roasted tomato salsa and tomatillo salsa.
Let your taste buds lead you through an authentic Mexican culinary journey, and enjoy all the different flavors along the way.
